About Us
Fresh Unlimited was created out of an appreciation for life's little luxuries combined with a concern about the safety of our food supply. Our initial concerns dealt with the genetic manipulation of grains and produce, the various chemicals such as herbicides and pesticides used to grow them as well as food dyes and preservatives added to processed foods to reduce costs and prolong shelf life.
Through years of exposure to the natural health industry we'd become increasingly aware of the potential health effects of these various chemicals and additives. We also became concerned with the refusal of governments (both Canadian and American) to require labeling for foods that were either genetically manipulated or contained ingredients that had been genetically manipulated, especially when considering the lack of studies into the long term effects of these ingredients.
At this time, available choices consisted of either "healthy treats" from the health stores (which you know are far from decadent) or decadent treats which are laden with various chemicals and, where the chocolate was likely made using child slave labor. We began however to notice a few exceptions. We first found some indulgent gourmet chocolate bars made with organic ingredients. These were among the finest chocolate and yet contained no harmful chemicals and were made with fair trade chocolate. It is here we realized what a true luxury was, one that provides pleasure but does so in a way that causes no harm to our planet or to the welfare of its inhabitants. It was then with this principle in mind as well as with a love of discovering fabulous new treasures that we created Fresh Unlimited.
We believe that Beauty, Style and Indulgent foods, should not have to be sacrificed in order to minimize our impact on the planet and its inhabitants.
We believe in seeking and experiencing all the joy, beauty, colors and flavors the world has to offer.
We believe that items created by people with a passion are superior to those that are mass produced.
We believe in the consumption of high quality goods that will add value either by providing a function, a taste experience or an inspiration.
We believe in the innate caring and generous nature of the human spirit and our responsibility to care for those in need.
We believe in finding any excuse to indulge in a little luxury, and in savoring every moment that brings joy - whatever that may be!
