Vodka Coolers
Summer is here! Time to head outside and bask in the summer heat with a refreshing drink. A great option is an Organic Vodka Cooler (also great in the non-alcoholic version). There are a number of organic vodkas now available including Square One Vodka, Schramm Vodka, Prairie Organic Vodka, Vodka 14, Liquid Ice Vodka and Ocean Vodka. Just Follow the recipe and enjoy! (Responsibly of course)
Organic Vodka Coolers
3/4 cup water
juice of ½ an organic lime
generous squirt of organic lemon juice
1 tbsp of organic agave syrup
2 oz of organic vodka
a splash of organic 7 Up type of soft drink (available at any health store)
mix 3/4 cup water with the juice of ½ an organic lime and a generous squirt of lemon juice, add 1 tbsp of organic agave syrup, 2 oz of organic vodka, and a splash of organic type of 7 Up soft drink. Blend with some ice until foamy and slushy.
FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE - THE PERFECT TREAT FOR THOSE HOT SUMMER DAYS!!
Have you ever thought you could enjoy a hot chocolate in the middle of July? Done the right way, it can be the perfect way to use that hot chocolate powder sitting in the pantry. Frozen hot chocolate is a refreshing decadent chocolaty treat for those hot summer days - you just have to freeze it. Not the hot chocolate powder!
You just prepare the hot chocolate has you normally would. Using an Organic hot chocolate powder along with Organic milk will allow you to savor the decadence of chocolate without any of those nasty toxic chemicals! (If you don’t drink milk you could substitute with goat’s milk, rice milk or almond milk).
Once you've prepared the hot chocolate according to directions on the container (feel free to add more of the hot chocolate powder than recommended if you like it really chocolatey) let it cool to room temperature and then freeze in an ice cube tray. Once completely frozen, empty the cubes into a blender with a few water ice cubes, blend and serve.
You might also want to check out the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate recipe recipe originated by Serendipity in New York and was featured on Oprah's show and now on Oprah's website . The recipe is a little more involved and does not ask for organic ingredients but it can be made just as easily with organic ingredients.
